BARRE is an athletic workout specifically designed to strengthen and lengthen the body. The class is fueled by upbeat music and efficiently flows through each muscle group creating endurance and stamina through strength training and increased flexibility through stretching. The movements are influenced by classical ballet barre methods, Pilates, and yoga. The class is taught in a group setting, but offers personalized attention through verbal and hands-on corrections. The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises. the focus is on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements. Although there is music inspiring our movement, no dance experience is needed. Watch out! You may have a great time working out!
